Want to Learn Some Conversational German?
|
We are currently putting together a 4 week program running the month of July to help to teach some German basics. Courses over the 4 weeks will cover the following:
- Week 1: Greetings and Farewells, Pronunciation guide aka the alphabet, polite expressions, formal vs informal
- Week 2: Food/Drink Hospitality, basic vocabulary for Leavenworth staples
- Week 3: Numbers and how to pay
- Week 4: Basic directions and destinations around town, aka der Parkplatz, die Toiletten.
Space is limited and the courses are free for Chamber members in good standing.
Before we pick a venue we wanted, to gauge interest. If you would ike to attend these sessions, drop Dana an e-mail to provide a tentative RSVP. Auf Wiedersehen!

Leavenworth just had a major moment on the national stage — and over 24 million people saw it.
On Sunday, Fox Sports filmed a live segment at Icicle Brewing ahead of the Germany vs. Curaçao FIFA World Cup match, bringing real Leavenworth energy to one of the biggest sporting events in the world. And if that wasn't enough, a pre-recorded piece on Leavenworth — filmed right here during Maifest — aired to that same massive audience.
That's 24 million viewers getting a front-row look at what makes this town special.
This kind of exposure is rare and hard to buy. National broadcast coverage tied to a cultural moment like the World Cup puts Leavenworth in front of exactly the kind of curious, travel-minded audience we want to reach. We couldn't be more proud of how our community showed up on screen.
