FEMA Inspectors Begin Storm Damage Assessments

Residents who applied for federal individual assistance resulting from the severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides that occurred in designated counties December 5-19, 2025, will soon be contacted by housing inspectors with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to schedule a home inspection if they’ve applied for disaster assistance.

Eligible residents in Chelan and other affected counties can apply for FEMA aid:

Inspections are typically scheduled within 7–10 days after applying. Inspectors will assess whether homes are safe, livable, and document any property losses. They do not determine eligibility onsite.

Inspectors will:

  • Contact applicants by phone or text (may appear as an unknown number)
  • Require the applicant (or a designated representative) to be present
  • Verify occupancy/ownership (no documents are collected)
  • Complete inspections in about 45 minutes

FEMA inspectors carry official ID and never charge for inspections.

For questions or application status, call (800) 621-3362.

MEDIA MATTERS

Organic Traffic, AI, and Why Your Website Matters More Than Ever

The way visitors find travel information is changing, and it’s no longer just about Google.

We’re seeing more people use AI tools like ChatGPT to ask specific, conversational questions when planning trips. Instead of scrolling through links, they’re getting curated answers instantly, often built from trusted website content like ours.

That’s why our focus on organic content, blogs, event pages, and FAQs is more important than ever. It’s not just about search rankings; it’s about making sure Leavenworth shows up in the answers people are already using.

We’re adapting by creating FAQ-driven content, highlighting seasonal events, and keeping information current.

For Chamber members, this matters. When your business is featured on our website through listings, blogs, or events, it increases your visibility across both traditional search and emerging AI platforms.

Strong, up-to-date content doesn’t just help people find Leavenworth, it helps them find you.

City of Leavenworth Survey Request

The Leavenworth Recycling Center is entering a new chapter.

As they explore new operational strategies, your voice as a local business and/or commercial property owner is an important piece in how we proceed.
