Inspired by the Gauder Fest in Austria where children of the village carry bells during this early May parade, we are adding this to our Maifest Festzug (Grand March) on May 9th. That said, we invite ALL KIDS ages 8 to 18 to don their Lederhosen and wear a cowbell around their waist! If your child wants to borrow Lederhosen to walk in the Festzug, please email Ernest today at Ernest@leavenworth.org
Only catch is, we are already out of bells. Do you have any cowbells hanging around? If so, we would love to borrow them for this year.
Cowbells can be dropped off at the Chamber Admin Offices, 940 US Highway 2 or the new Willkommen Center, 645 Front Street.

Our Executive Director, Troy Campbell, recently joined Brad Summers and his three grandsons of the Leavenworth Alphorns on KATU Portland's AM Northwest to promote Maifest and the International Alphorn Festival, bringing a lively taste of Leavenworth’s spring traditions directly to Portland audiences in two separate morning show segments!
As one of our most important drive markets, Portland requires a strong presence, and opportunities like this are made possible by our ongoing PR and media relations efforts. Beyond the live segment, these appearances often come with added value, including TV spot placements and online features on station websites, which significantly extend our reach and reinforce awareness in a key visitor market.

FOOTFALLS
Week 14, 2026. 06 Apr 2026 - 12 Apr 2026

*Remember, these are footfalls counted by five cameras locations on Front Street. The numbers are NOT individual people counts, those numbers would be lower.
GREAT WEEK! We hope this past spring break reflects the 95% INCREASE over the previous week!
