Bavarian Bulletin - September 22,  2026 Edition

The longest running festival in Leavenworth since 1964, the Autumn Leaf Festival happens this weekend. The Grand Parade is the main event on Saturday starting at Noon, and features, floats, Bavarian groups, bands and so much more!

Jessie Swider from the Autumn Leaf Parade drops by to share some details about this longstanding Leavenworth celebration. 

LEAVENWORTH TODAY — A REAL TIME GUIDE FOR VISITORS WHEN THEY ARE HERE

The Chamber is launching Leavenworth Today, a new mobile visitor guide that puts Leavenworth at visitors’ fingertips — no app store, account or download required. Visitors simply  type Leavenworth.org/today into their phone's browser, scan a QR code or follow a live link to find where to eat and shop, what’s open, what’s happening, and how to get around. 

Good news for Visitor Serving Businesses, you are already in it!

BUILT FOR HOW VISITORS EXPLORE LEAVENWORTH

Leavenworth Today opens in a browser but works like an app and can be saved to a phone’s home screen. It includes:

• What’s open right now — Live business hours let visitors quickly see what’s open, closing soon or opening next.
• Member directory — Dining, shopping, attractions, wineries and tasting rooms, lodging and more, with photos, menus, phone numbers and one-tap directions. Does your venue have live music? That will also appear on your listing.*
• What’s Going On — Chamber calendar events organized by today, tonight, this weekend and the week ahead.
• Event Details - Schedule and event details will also appear, allowing visitors to bookmark events and get a countdown reminder on the home screen.
• Getting around — Parking, Park & Ride, maps and other useful visitor information.
• Saved places — Visitors can bookmark businesses and activities to create their own trip shortlist.
• Offline access — Once saved to a phone, key information remains available even when cell service is overloaded.

YOUR EVENTS, PROMOTIONS & SPECIALS SHOW UP ON THIS 

Events you submit to the Chamber calendar automatically appear on your business listing as well as in What’s On. If you have several events coming up, visitors will see that right from your listing and can tap through for details.

The same goes for Promotions & Specials. Current offers appear directly on your listing with the promotion details and dates, including recurring promotions.

Best of all, there’s nothing new for you to manage. Post events and promotions to the Chamber calendar as you already do, and Leavenworth Today pulls them in automatically.

OKTOBERFEST MODE

For Oktoberfest, Leavenworth Today transforms into a festival guide beginning September 28, with everything visitors need for all three weekends.

The Oktoberfest hub includes live stage schedules showing what’s playing now and what’s next, full schedules by stage, performer profiles, food and drink locations, shuttle routes and stops, festival maps, tickets and Know Before You Go information.

Visitors can bookmark performances to create their own lineup, and food and beverage listings correspond with the letters and numbers on festival maps. They can also quickly find options including gluten-free, non-alcoholic, cider and wine.

Between festival weekends, the guide counts down to the next one. After the final weekend, Oktoberfest mode automatically disappears and Leavenworth Today returns to the everyday visitor guide.

Post events to the Chamber calendar. Add offers to Promotions & Specials. And if your business hours, phone number, photos or description need updating, let us know so your directory listing stays current.

We’ll also be coming around with Leavenworth Today QR code displays for member businesses to put out for guests. Visitors can simply scan the code while they’re here for quick access to what’s open, what’s happening and everything they need to explore Leavenworth.
