City of Leavenworth: Upcoming Front Street Roadway Improvements
|
Next week, the City of Leavenworth will begin pavement and concrete repairs along Front Street, stretching from US Hwy 2 (Gustav’s) to 10th Street (Icicle Brewery). This project aims to eliminate multiple trip hazards and improve the overall roadway condition. Work will include repairing crosswalks and sidewalks, fixing the "wavy" bricks, seal coating the street, and replacing the concrete "dance floor" in front of the gazebo.
Construction is scheduled for weekdays from Tuesday, May 26, through Friday, June 5, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Because crews will be working directly in the roadway, please respect all traffic cones and barricades to ensure everyone’s safety. City staff will reach out directly to special use permit holders with specific updates.
We understand this work may cause disruptions and truly appreciate your patience as we work to improve Front Street this spring. For more information and live project updates, please visit cityofleavenworth.com/projects.

Media Matters: Why We Invest in Meta Advertising Beyond Organic Social Media
|
Organic social media remains an important way we connect with loyal visitors and share Leavenworth’s story, but in today’s crowded digital landscape, organic reach alone is not enough to consistently reach new travelers. That’s where paid Meta advertising plays a critical role.
This spring, our Meta campaigns generated more than 1.6 million impressions and over 25,000 clicks to Leavenworth.org. The campaign achieved a strong 1.59% click-through rate, above typical tourism industry averages (Average Meta tourism/travel CTRs often fall around 0.9%–1.3%), along with an efficient $0.32 cost-per-click.
Paid advertising allows us to reach new travelers, target key drive markets, retarget interested website visitors, promote seasonal experiences like Maifest at the right moment, and remain competitive against thousands of other destinations online.
One of the campaign’s biggest successes was the Bavarian-themed Front Street creative, which generated more than 12,000 clicks alone. The imagery resonated because it instantly communicated what makes Leavenworth unique: Bavarian architecture, mountain scenery, sunshine, and downtown charm.
The campaign reinforced something we consistently see in tourism marketing: authentic destination identity performs best. While events and recreation attract visitors, Leavenworth’s Bavarian character remains one of the strongest drivers of online interest and engagement.
